Grammar Tip

Plural words and numbers don’t have apostrophes. Temperatures are in the 90s and 100s and either number is entirely too hot. Octogenarians are people who are in their 80s.

The current decade is called the 2020s (or the ‘20s); it was preceded by the 2010s. Some people refer to the first decade of this millennium as the aughts.

Here’s to a great second half of 2021. I used to think June was the beginning of the second half of the year, because 6 is half of 12. Sigh.

It makes more sense with a visual representation that shows six months here and six months there.

July is also the beginning of JASON when you use one letter for each month (July, August, September, October, November).
